Wine tasting

Well after some gruelling lessons we have today, we are forced to go to a wine tasting and sample all that Burgundy has to offer, in some private cellar.
Needless to say I shant be thinking of any of you.

Morning

Went out for dinner and drinks last night and had some Burgundy.
Then went to get crepes and when the waiter asked if I wanted anything to drink I said "Rein" which I thought meant nothing, but obviously here that means bring him a beer, as a beer was placed in front of me. Not wanting to be rude I drank it.

Burgundy anyone?

OK so for those of you who are unaware, Beaune France is in the Burgundy region where the Burgundy wine is happily made and drunk.

I found out that on Friday, I will be driving a van for 10 hours from Beaune through Switzerland, down through Italy. By myself no less. Not that I am complaining but all I can say is ouch, lets hope it's better then the ride through New Brunswick (that's meant specifically for one persson, and she knows who she is -dommage sur un baton.)

Other than that it is warm, sunny and beautiful in Beaune, and once again I got pillaged when I went to the bank to change currency as they charged me 5 Euro 60 thats around $8.85 Canadian to change money, I'd have perfered it if the teller came around the banqette and kneed me in the nuts.

And for the record, the trains stations in France have the weirdest sound it sounds like someone is about to be stabbed in a horror flick, I can't even describe it, its like this synthesized sample.

Bon Jour

I forgot to mention that French girls are hot.
I wasn't able to yell at the person at Air Canada when I found out that my bags would be arrive in 2hrs later because I was dumbfounded by her beauty.

Apart from that the Euro is raping me.

My french is scary, seriously I open my mouth and things come out that I have no idea how they got there or got out. I'm just trotting along, when I do form a sentence that is understandable in French often time their response is so quick or complex i have no idea what they are saying but i just nod and say "oui, oui".

Gonna hop on a bike later. Hooray!

I'm in Beaune

Well, I made it, but not after Air Canada wanted to bump me to a 10pm flight when I booked my flight at 8pm, you see Air Canada from here in known as Air Tabernack, oversells their flights and bumps sonsabitches like me to a later flight. Luckly I got on the 8pm flight, but as Air Tabernack would have it my luggage went on the 10pm flight which meant I had to wait at Charles de Gaulle airport for 2 hours. Lets just say with little sleep on the plane, I was not in the best of shapes...but
it's amazing how a coffee even a bad airport coffee makes everything better.
Then it was on a bus that did a milk run to every gate in Charles de G. which took me to Gare du Lyon, off to Dijion, then change trains and a little whores bath on the train and I was in Beaune, prounounced 'bone'. Basically 8 hours from my arrival in Paris to my hotel which Beaune is like 1hour and 45 away from Paris, go figure, I smell, I'm tired, hungry and I'm off to shower, sleep, eat and you know what drink!
Cheers

On a Bike!

It is riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up them and coast down them. - Ernest Hemingway

The danger of HFCS!!!

Why are so many people obese in North America?
Ever heard of HFCS High Fructose Corn Syrup
What is it you might ask?
It is genetically modified corn syrup which has been chemically modified to make it a replacement for sugar. Basically making a cheap sweetner for companies that formally used sugar.
So what?
Many people believe that this modification of Corn syrup which you will find on the label of many products which formally had sugar in it, is making people so grossly obese.
All I say is do some research and check your labels folks.

San Diego

I'm in San Diego, California.
And it is a cool city, well kept and friendly.

Harry Potter and the Half blood prince

If you have read any of the Harry Potter books, I highly recommend this one. After the first it is my next favourite.
For those of you who haven't read any of the HP books, I strongly suggest you pick them up as they are an easy read and well written.
I will leave it at that as I don't want to give anything away.

Off to Europe!!

Friends and those who care.
I will be heading off to Europe at the end of this month, for a two month stint as a tour guide in Southern Italy.
Yes me on a bike, try not to fall over.
Well, I'm going to keep everyone updated with my goings on here on my blog.
So stay tuned.
